Standards and ethics

Transparency policy

La Fronde is an independently owned and operated newsroom with no outside investors.

We don’t allow external people or organizations to dictate our editorial coverage or strategy. Our commercial partners and brand sponsors produce their content independently of our newsroom, and any sponsored or paid content carries a clear designation at the top of every newsletter send.

Conflict of interest policy

Writers and editors must disclose any relationship that could create — or reasonably appear to create — a conflict of interest before accepting or beginning an assignment. This includes personal, professional, or financial relationships in which the writer has an interest in how the subject is covered. Disclosed conflicts will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the editor, and may result in reassignment or a published disclosure note. We do not accept gifts or comps of any kind in exchange for coverage. If reporting is conducted as part of a press trip, we will disclose that in the piece.

A.I. Policy

La Fronde is editorially independent. That means the reporting, writing, and opinions published here are produced by humans — specifically, journalists and editors who are accountable for what they put into the world. We do not use A.I. to generate articles, interview subjects, report stories, produce graphics or any editorial content that appears under a byline. We do not use A.I. to fabricate quotes, sources, or facts of any kind. We also do not use our work to train A.I. models.
